Phyllis “Bunchy” Zeck, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, with her husband, Daniel Zeck, at her side. Phyllis was born on February 24, 1937, at the Mikus family farm, Powers, Michigan. Phyllis moved to Milwaukee at the age of 18 and met Daniel in 1955 when he returned from his service in the U.S. Army. They married a year later at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Dan and Phyllis raised three children in Milwaukee and Brookfield: Steven, Stefanie, and Jessica. Phyllis worked for many years as a medical secretary at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Dan, her son Steven Zeck, her daughters Stefanie O’Shea (Tim), and Jessica Kundert (Dave), and by grandchildren Sara Hebel, and Owen, Thomas, and Nathan O’Shea.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents Julius and Verna Mikus and her brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the School Sisters of Notre Dame. https://ssnd.org/partner-us/gift/
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at ST. AGNES CATHOLIC PARISH, 12801 W. Fairmount Ave., Butler. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
