Ruby Mae Martin Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Ruby Turner Martin. Born on November 10, 1944, in the warm and welcoming town of Chicoshea, Oklahoma, Ruby departed this world peacefully on July 9, 2026, at the age of 81.

Ruby was the cherished daughter of Carl and Hester Turner, who predeceased her, along with her devoted husband, Al Martin, with whom she shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised four daughters and built a life that overflowed with love, laughter, and the joy of travel. Their union, which began on March 4, 1961, was a testament to enduring love and partnership.

Ruby was a dedicated and hardworking individual, holding various roles throughout her life, including as a manager in the ladies’ wear department at Walmart. Her colleagues and customers alike will remember her for her kindness, impeccable work ethic, and an ever-present smile that could light up any room.

In her personal life, Ruby found immense joy in crafting and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her hands often busy with creative projects, her heart was always full when surrounded by her beloved family.

Ruby is survived by her loving daughters, Rhonda Martin, Kathy and Bruce Hensley, Karen and Roger Norman, and Angie and Chuck Womble. Her legacy continues through her grandsons, Conner, William, Matthew, Chris, Michael, Bucky, and Joey, and her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and who will carry forward her spirit of love and kindness.

Ruby was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Hester Turner, her brothers Lawrence, Leonard, Jesse, and Jean, and her sisters Beatrice, Virginia, and June. Despite these losses, she remained a pillar of strength and a beacon of love for her family, forever honoring the memories of those who went before her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ruby’s memory to a charity of your choice, ensuring that her legacy of generosity and care for others continues to touch lives beyond her own.

Ruby’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends. Her gentle spirit, warmth, and laughter will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She leaves behind a world richer for her presence and a family eternally grateful for the time they shared with such a remarkable woman. May she rest in peace, reunited with her loved ones, and forever held in the hearts of those who love her.

Memorial services will be held for Ruby on July 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home chapel.
