Katie loved the Lord. Her commitment and unwavering faith was an inspiration to her family and acquaintances. She loved to sing, read, garden and spend time with her grand kids. She taught Sunday School for years and loved to study the Bible and share her wisdom. Katie was very hospitable and opened her home to all. In her later years as her needs changed, she was lovingly cared for by three of her daughters, living with each of them in turn as they welcomed her into their homes in different states. The last five weeks of her life, she lived at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Harrison, Arkansas.
