Pete was born to Pedro and Isidora Villacana on September 4, 1942, in El Paso, Texas. In 1948, Pete's family moved to Tehachapi so his father could begin working at Monolith Cement Plant. As a teenager, Pete worked many jobs, from tending smudge pots in the orchards to doing cowboy work on local ranches around Tehachapi.

One day, Pete decided to ask an attractive young lady named Faye on a date. After a whirlwind romance, Pete asked Faye to marry him. There was only one little problem—Pete had told Faye he was 19 years old. He eventually confessed that he was actually only 16 and needed written permission from his parents to get married. With permission in hand, the two headed to Reno, where they were married on September 1, 1959.

The following year, they welcomed their first son, James. John soon followed, and three years later, Paul completed their family. Pete was an active member of the community and loved coaching his sons in Little League throughout the years.

At the age of 18, Pete began working as a laborer at Monolith Cement Plant alongside his father. Over the years, he also had the opportunity to work with his sons James & Paul and later with his granddaughter Jenna, who worked there during her college summers. After 42 years of dedicated service, Pete retired at the age of 58.

Retirement gave Pete more time to serve at Summit Christian Fellowship, where he faithfully greeted members, ushered, and helped distribute bulletins. Pete loved his church and treasured the many friendships he made there.

One of Pete's greatest passions was hunting. From 1978 to 2014, he made annual hunting trips to Colorado with his sons James, John, and Paul, along with friends Charlie, Romeo Irland, and Gordon. One of his favorite memories was his final hunting trip, when he harvested the biggest deer of his life.

Pete also loved to gamble, and Las Vegas and Stateline were two of his favorite destinations. He enjoyed dancing, and you could always count on him to be the first one on the dance floor.

Pete and Faye's home was the place to be during the summer. It was where high school parties were held, lifelong friendships were made, and many people gave their lives to Jesus Christ and were baptized in the family's swimming pool.

Pete was with Faye when she was reunited with her daughter Vicki whom she had given up for adoption in 1958. Vicki found Faye, she'd came to California to visit, and eventually moved to Tehachapi with her son David.

Above all else, Pete loved his family. He was the caretaker who was always ready to help anyone in need. Pete and Faye spent countless evenings caring for their grandchildren—helping with homework, attending sporting events, supporting school activities, and doing whatever was needed.

Some of the grandchildren's favorite memories include Friday nights with Grandma and Grandpa, ordering pizza and watching TGIF together. They always knew Grandpa would be in the stands, cheering them on at every game or event. Daily visits often included trips to McDonald's for ice cream sundaes. As they grew older, those visits turned into one, two, or even three phone calls a day—just to check in.

When the great-grandchildren came along, they loved spending time with Papa and looked forward to their special dates at Denny's. These are just a few of the countless memories his grandchildren and great-grandchildren will cherish forever.

Pete was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Faye, and his sister, Gloria.

He is survived by his brother, Louie, and his wife, Claudia; his sons, James and his wife, Barbara, John and his wife, Lauri, and Paul; his daughter, Vicki De Santo; his daughter-in-law, Laura Johnson, and her husband, Richard; his grandchildren, Jenna Agtang and her wife, Alicia, Shay Villacana, Ali Rodriguez and her husband, Ray, David Draughn, and Tanya Villacana; and his great-grandchildren, Holden, Ryan, Bristol, Brayden, Hadleigh, Addison, Easton, and Ryder.

As Grandpa would always say,
