LAWSONVILLE – Joye Knight Tucker, born October 11, 1938 passed into eternal rest Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at her home.

A private family graveside service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026. Joye will lie in state from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel for anyone who would like come by to pay their respects.

Joye was born in Stokes County and was a graduate of RJ Reynolds High School. She was a military wife and home maker for 20 years, traveling the world with her family that she deeply loved. After retirement, she moved back to Stokes County, where Joye and her husband became members of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Her favorite passtime was watching game shows on TV.

Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Franklin Tucker; parents, Roy Knight, and Nellie Plaster Knight; and two siblings.

Survivors include her daughters, Mitzi T. Nance (Danny), and Renee T. Fulks (James); grandchildren, Tiffony Lynch (Chad), James Fulks, Jr., Angela Stahly (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Kenzie Stahly (Levi), Michael Stahly (Ivy), and Amillia Lynch; brothers, Doug Knight (Martha), and Donnie Knight; and a sister, Arbenia K. Manuel (Robert).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4128 NC 704 Hwy E., Sandy Ridge, NC 27046.

The family extends their appreciation to the staff at Trellis Supportive Care and caregivers Molly Anderson and Debbie Hernandez.
