John Bicknell Obituary
John William Bicknell, Jr., age 75, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, July 3, 2026, at home. He was surrounded by his loving family and constant family companion, Bella, his dog.
John was born November 28, 1950, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He graduated from high school in 1968 in Texas. He joined the Army in January, 1969. After serving our country for 20 years and 23 days, John retired in January 1989 as a Sergeant 1st class, E7. He worked as a private contractor and in several local businesses. At the end of his work career, he was employed at Union Pacific Railroad.
John enjoyed spending 37 years with his wife, Elizabeth Bicknell. He enjoyed spoiling his fur baby, Bella. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Bicknell Sr. and Norma Cleo Roberson; his loving wife of 37 years, Elizabth Lee “Beth” Bicknell, whom he married November 18, 1989; four sisters, Eileen Roberts, Peggy Harman, Donna Smith, and Sandy Ammerman; one brother, Henry “Hank” Bicknell.
He is survived by his fur baby, Bella; two daughters, Theresa (Rusty) George of Sherrill, AR and Sherry (Sammy) Langston of Magnet Cove, AR; two sons, David Bicknell of Baton Rouge, LA and Johnny Bicknell of Pensacola, FL. He was a proud Grampy (GeeGee) to eight wonderful grandchildren, and 12 beautiful great grandchildren (with #13 due in September).
Visitation will be Thursday, July 8, 2026, 3:00 pm at Robinson-Fuller White Hall Chapel. The memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm.
