Marjean Johnson of Ashland, MO joined her loved ones in Heaven on Monday, July 6, 2026. She was 63 years old.

Marjean was born and raised in her beloved Englewood Community to Henderson "Doc" and Opal Mae (Crump) Johnson. On March 21, 1963, she joined older sister Connie (Ricky) Rouse to complete the family.

She graduated from Southern Boone County High School in 1981. She was a member of Goshen Primitive Baptist Church in Wilton, MO.

She married Tony Sumpter on March 16, 2018, following a chance re-meeting in 2011. He survives at the home.

Marjean was a loving and devoted mother to two daughters. Natalie Jean (Nick) Davis and Carlie Jean (Katie) Johnson, both from the Englewood Community.

Nothing brought her more joy than spending time as "Maw Maw" to her three grandchildren. Boone Doc Davis, Cora Jaymes Davis and Nelly Grey Johnson. Marjean's love for her husband, daughters, grandchildren, family and friends was unwavering and she treasured all the connections that bound them together.

Following a diagnosis of Stage IV Colo-rectal cancer in 2022, Marjean fought with extreme courage and grace. A true warrior.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Parker-Millard Funeral Home in Columbia, MO. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 pm. A private burial will be later at the Johnson Cemetery.
