Kathleen Harrington (Thorpe) Obituary

Kathleen Harrington, 75, passed peacefully into the Lord’s arms, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and faith. Kathleen’s life was a reflection of her enduring Christian spirit—always smiling, always giving, and always caring for those around her. Her gentle and compassionate heart touched everyone she met.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jon L. Harrington, and though she was widowed, her faith gave her comfort in knowing that she would one day meet her husband again in glory.

Born with an infectious smile that never faded, Kathleen had a special love for children and animals, especially horses. Palomino horses were her favorite, and even as dementia slowly stole many of her memories, she always remembered the golden horses of her youth and the sandy shores of her beloved childhood beach in San Clemente, California. The ocean and the horses never left her heart.

Kathleen’s life was blessed with her devoted daughter, Dominique Harrington-Ecton, and son-in-law, Thomas Ecton. Her greatest joys were her grandsons, JonLucas and Dominic Ecton, who filled her days with laughter and love. They visited their grandma daily, delighting her with their stories and faithfully filling her bird feeder each week, a small act that always brought her happiness.

A faithful member of her church, Kathleen attended services regularly and lived her life in service to others. She was always ready to lend a hand, share a kind word, and offer comfort to those in need.

Her family and friends will remember Kathleen for her unwavering kindness, her love of God’s creation, and the joy she brought to every life she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the laughter of her grandsons, the songs of the birds she loved, and the whispers of the ocean waves she never forgot.

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” – Matthew 5:8
