Roger E Branham Obituary

Pastor Roger E. Branham

1948-2026

"He lived with humble hands, a servant's heart, and an unwavering faith, leaving this world richer because he walked among us."

Pastor Roger E. Branham, age 77, of Catlettsburg, KY, received his Heavenly reward on July 4, 2026.

Roger was born in the Fall of 1948, on October 17th. He was the blessing of the late Ima Gene and Juanita Lyons Branham. Roger was a 1966 graduate of Boyd County High School and furthered his education at Ashland Community College.

Roger found joy in the simple gifts God placed before him. Whether he was hunting in the quiet woods, casting a line into a favorite fishing hole, or simply capturing the beauty of the outdoors with his camera, he found peace in God's creation. He was a proud member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and a former member of the North East Fish and Game, forming many lasting friendships through the years.

While Roger enjoyed the outdoors, his greatest passion was never found in the woods or on the water, it was found in serving his Savior. His faith was not simply something he professed, it was the foundation upon which he built his entire life. He faithfully served the Lord in countless ways, including many years as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and as Clerk for the Tri-State Free Will Baptist Conference, a role he held for more than 48 years.

For the past 29 years, Roger lovingly shepherded the congregation of Catlettsburg Free Will Baptist Church as their pastor. He preached God's Word with conviction, compassion, and unwavering truth, but it was the way he lived his faith that left the deepest impression. He offered encouragement to the weary, comfort to the grieving, wisdom to those seeking guidance, and a steady example of Christ's love to everyone blessed to know him.

To say Roger was a man of faith does not describe the legacy he leaves behind. His life was a living testimony to the Lord. His influence reached far beyond the walls of his church, and the seeds of faith he planted will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.

Roger leaves behind his cherished wife of 57 years, Patricia Duvall Branham, one son Brian David Branham and his wife Lori of Catlettsburg, KY, four precious grandchildren Citori Branham, Wyatt Branham, Lakin Crum and her wife Mallory, and Ryan Blanton and his wife Emily, and several special nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a host of extended family members, friends, and a congregation of church families.

In addition to his late parents, Roger is enjoying a Heavenly reunion with his two sisters. Saundra Branham and Suzanne Moore Branham.

A funeral service to honor the life of Roger will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Catlettsburg Freewill Baptist Church, beginning at 11am with Pastor Mike Cox & Rev. Willard Nolen officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be held the evening before the service at the church from 6pm to 8pm. Roger will be laid to rest following the service at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catlettsburg Freewill Baptist Church at 3701 Valley Street, Catlettsburg, Ky 41129.
