Gennaro “Jerry” G. Landisi, a longtime resident of Beacon, entered into eternal rest peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old.

Born on December 29, 1946, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Jerry was the son of the late Joseph and Jane Lanni Landisi. He was raised in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, where he attended local schools and graduated from high school. Following graduation, Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1969. He later worked as a locksmith at Downstate Correctional Facility, where he remained until his retirement.

Jerry was deeply committed to his community and dedicated many years to public service. A parishioner of St. Joachim–St. John the Evangelist Church, he was actively involved in numerous civic and community organizations. Jerry proudly served the City of Beacon as a member of the City Council and as a member of the Zoning Board. He also represented District 18 as a Dutchess County Legislator. A proud advocate of his Italian heritage, Jerry was a life member and past president of St. Rocco’s Society and was also a member of Beacon Elks Lodge No. 1493.

Above all, Jerry treasured his family and the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Napoli; his sons, John Landisi and his wife, Tara, and Dave Landisi and his wife, Jennifer; his stepdaughters, Jessica Napoli and Amber Napoli; his grandchildren, Alex, Eric, Reilly, and Ryan; his sister, Linda, and her children, AJ, Mia, Christopher, and Lindsey; and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, loyalty, and generosity.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his first wife, Anne Murdoch Landisi, in 2018.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, July 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 9, at 1 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon.

Memorial donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
