Subastion James Samuel Cruz-Galyon, 20, of Canton, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on July 1, 2026.

Born on July 8, 2005, Subastion was the beloved son of April Galyon and Miguel Reyes Cruz. He was a loving son, devoted friend, and ambitious young man whose dreams were as big as his heart.

A proud graduate of Pisgah High School, Subastion worked as a presser for Wilsonart, where his strong work ethic and positive spirit left a lasting impression on those around him. He was known for his infectious smile, sense of humor, and special ability to lift the spirits of everyone he met.

Subastion’s passion for motorcycles was unmatched. The sound of his bike and the freedom of riding brought him some of life’s greatest joys and friends. He treasured spending time with friends, often gathering at Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack, sharing laughter and creating lasting memories.

He had a love for his Jordan Shoes, took great pride in his hair, and dreamed of traveling to Japan, reflecting his adventurous spirit. He also had a deep love for sports cars, especially the Nissan 370Z.

He leaves behind his beloved parents, April and Miguel, his siblings, Sumaya, Sulias, and Solomon; his cousins and best friends, Sentilina and Syleah; his aunts and uncles; Jamie “Nanay”, Fabian “Bubba”, Veronica, and Rodolfo “Pive”; his grandparents, Laverta “Mamaw”, Felipe and Juana; numerous cousins, and many friends, especially his beloved Biker Buddies, who will forever carry his memories.

In honor of Subastion’s life, his biker friends will host a “Ride for Subastion” on Friday July 10, 2026, starting from Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack at 11:00 AM.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
