Leslie Ann Durst

Leslie Ann Durst, 72, of Hood River, Oregon, passed away on June 29, 2026, following a short but valiant fight with cancer.

Leslie was born on August 23, 1953, in Dallas, Oregon, to Jim and Liz Murphy. She married the love of her life, Tim Durst, in 1979, and together they built a life filled with love, friendship, adventure, and countless cherished memories.

Leslie spent her professional career in international shipping and receiving, ultimately retiring from OOCL. While she was dedicated to her work, her greatest pride was creating a warm and welcoming home. She was a passionate homemaker who took immense pride in keeping a spotless house and preparing delicious meals for family and friends.

She had a keen interest in politics and thoroughly enjoyed discussing current events and the issues shaping the world around her. Leslie also loved the Oregon Coast, especially visiting Manzanita with Tim. The two treasured their time walking the beach, enjoying fresh seafood, and making memories together along the shore.

As a casual golfer, Leslie enjoyed the rounds she played with Tim and friends. Afterwards, the enjoyment continued with a cold beverage, a snack, and plenty of laughter.

Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Liz Murphy; her sisters, Terry Jones (Roy) and Sherry Kemp; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marie and Roy Durst.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Tim Durst; her brothers, Mark Murphy of Portland, Oregon, and Greg Murphy and his husband Paul of Brewer, Maine; brother-in-law Chris Durst along with his wife Kate and their daughter Kylyn of Houlton, Maine, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Leslie's warmth, humor, kindness, and love of life touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
