Henrietta Christine James, age 77 of Kirksville, MO passed away surrounded by her family on June 28, 2026. She was born on April 26, 1949 in Pheonix, AZ.

She was a woman who’s idea of keeping her family strong and together became a life's mission. Every one-on-one connection became a unique relationship she built upon, whether it be with humanity, nature, family or friend; 2 legged or 4 legged. She was a piece of paradise on Earth, valued as one-of-a-kind. True to her Native American descent she instilled knowledge, tradition and pride of her heritage to those of her bloodline. Never was there a soul in need turned away from her door. The love and concern, care and attention she put forth made the world a better place to be. We honor her with the morals, values, strength and love she left in each and every one of us. A true blessing and gift as the daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother may her legacy live on. She now joins her parents, William Payton Ray and Nina Lou (Mane) Edwards. 2 sisters Joyce Janine and Debra Darlene, her brother Buford “Buzz” Edwards and her youngest daughter Nova LeAnn Shaver. She lives on in Her brothers Ray (Linda) Edwards and Ronald Edwards. Her sisters Donna Pauline and Lois Marlene. Her oldest daughter Christina and husband Robert Thompson. Granddaughters Christina Anders. Hayley Peak. Katrina Kinsman. And Amberlynn Thrasher. Her grandsons Jeremiah Vance, Dalton Steinhauer. Gabe and Justin Elliott, great grandsons. Troy Lee. Christensen, Elijah and Leunidas Peek, Larry Anders and coming this October Meah Peek along with many nieces, nephews and their families. Her friend and companion Melanie Varona; , thank you for the many genuine laughs you shared together and most of all her protector, sidekick and best friend till the end, her little dog April Dilon.

Strife, struggle, pain no more. May serenity, peace in God's unconditional love carry you home through heaven's door until our next embrace….
