Claudia White Lata, 75, of Ellington, loving wife of 52-years of Michael Lata Jr., peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Claudia was born on February 27, 1951, in Hartford, one of two beloved daughters of the late Erwin J. and Beverly H. White.

She was raised in Windsor and was a graduate of Windsor High School, Class of 1969. Claudia then graduated from Bay Path College where she earned her degree in 1971. Prior to starting her family, Claudia was employed as a Senior Valuation Technician Actuarial with CT General/Cigna for over ten years.

After retirement from CT General/Cigna, Claudia devoted her life to being a full-time Mother. She raised her sons with love and infamously would make sure they were safe by asking them to ding her phone once whenever they reached their destination. This was a tradition she learned from her Mother. Claudia loved cooking her Mom’s meatloaf and her favorite fettuccini alfredo for her family. She thoroughly enjoyed keeping her mind sharp by working on sudoku puzzles daily and was an avid fan of the Gameshow Network.

In addition to her loving husband Michael, Claudia leaves her two sons and their families, Matthew J. Lata, his wife, Lauren and their son, Jackson, all of Vernon, and Derek A. Lata, his wife, Emily and their children, Mckinley and Beckett, all of Wethersfield. She also leaves her sister, Nedra Mortimer of Somers. In addition to her parents, Claudia was predeceased by her brother-in-law, David Mortimer.
