Kenya Kano Hunt Obituary
Mr. Kenya Kano Hunt, 54, departed this life on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at his residence. Born on December 14, 1971, in Rowan County, North Carolina, he was the beloved son of Sandra Houston Hunt and the late Arthur William Hunt.
Kenya received his education in the Rowan County Public School System and proudly graduated from West Rowan High School with the Class of 1990. Throughout his life, he possessed a creative spirit and an appreciation for the arts that was evident to all who knew him. He had a deep love for music and could often be found enjoying his favorite songs or sharing laughter on the dance floor. Blessed with artistic ability, Kenya also enjoyed drawing, using his talent to express himself in unique and meaningful ways.
In addition to his artistic gifts, Kenya was known for his skill as a barber. Family members, friends, and neighbors often sought him out for a fresh haircut, appreciating not only his talent but also the conversations, humor, and fellowship that accompanied every visit. His warm personality and easygoing nature made him someone others genuinely enjoyed being around.
Kenya was a member of Third Creek AME Zion Church, where he found spiritual encouragement and remained connected to his church family. His life was a reflection of kindness, humility, and a genuine love for those around him. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his creative heart, and the joy he brought to family gatherings and everyday moments.
Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Cherishing his precious memories are his devoted mother, Sandra Hunt; his loving brother, Kela Hunt; niece, Hasana Hunt; nephews, Ethan and Kaleb Hunt; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.
As we celebrate Kenya's life, we give thanks for the years God allowed him to share with us. Though he will be deeply missed, his gentle spirit, artistic gifts, and loving presence will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
