1957-2026

Some people leave footprints upon the earth, while others leave them upon our hearts.

Cindy Gayle Jackson, age 68 of Catlettsburg, Ky , passed gently away on June 27, 2026, while resting at Kings Daughters Medical Center.

Cindy was born as fall days were giving way to the crisp days of winter on November 20, 1957. She was the blessing of the late Frank and Drema Applegate Duley. Cindy was a proud graduate of Boyd County High School. She possessed an energetic spirit that most of us would like to bottle up sell. Her work ethic kept her constantly on the move. She dedicated many years of faithful service as a Laboratory Technician at Calgon Carbon before her retirement. Even after retirement, Cindy's nature would not allow her to slow down. She embraced a new career as the manager of a local fireworks store, where her warm personality and friendly smile made lasting impressions on customers and friends alike.

When the workday was done, Cindy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time on the golf course, enjoying the challenge of a well-played round, getting dusty during an exciting game of softball, and treasured evenings at the bowling alley where laughter, friendly competition, and time with family and friends created memories she held dear. Whether at work or at play, Cindy warm smile always made her a pleasure to be around.

That smile will shine bright in the memories of those she left behind and the love that she gave will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Cindy leaves behind her beloved son, Bryan Newman and his wife Rebecca of Russell, KY, three precious grandchildren, Andrew Newman, Aiden Newman, and Liam Newman, her dearest friends Glenda Hickman and Kim Sturgill, as well as one special cousin Rhonda Nolte.

In addition to her late parents, Cindy is reunited with one sister Melissa Workman. On her journey to her heavenly home Cindy encountered a familiar face and wagging tail. Just across the rainbow bridge she was reunited with her precious Great Pyrenees, Bonnie, of whom she said goodbye to only a couple weeks ago.

A service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, beginning at 6pm, at Neal Funeral Home located at 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg, KY, with Pastor Todd Coleman officiating. Visitation for friends and family will take place prior to the service from 4pm until 6pm.
