Mr. Travis Hunt, 57, peacefully answered his Master's call and entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the VA Medical Center Hospice Unit, surrounded by the love and presence of his devoted family. Born on June 17, 1969, in Welch, West Virginia, he was the beloved son of the late Denver Hunt and Barbara Davis Hunt.

Travis was a man whose life reflected unwavering faith, steadfast integrity, and genuine compassion. Whether serving his country, ministering the Gospel, or caring for his family, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to uplifting others. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, cherished brother, faithful minister, and loyal friend whose gentle spirit and servant's heart touched countless lives.

He received his education in the public schools of West Virginia and graduated from Iaeger High School. Committed to furthering his education, he attended both Bluefield State College and Concord College. Travis later became employed with Daimler Truck, where he faithfully worked as an assembler, earning the respect of his coworkers through his strong work ethic, humility, and dedication.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Travis exemplified honor, discipline, and commitment throughout his military service. His dedication earned him several commendations and medals recognizing both his achievements and exemplary conduct. The values he embraced while serving his country remained evident throughout every chapter of his life, shaping him into the dependable, courageous, and selfless man so many admired.

Above all else, Travis loved the Lord. His relationship with God was the foundation upon which he built his life and family. As a devoted minister of Mt. Ararat Old Regular Baptist Church, he faithfully proclaimed the Gospel and encouraged others to develop a personal relationship with Christ. His faith sustained him through every joy and every trial, and he desired nothing more than for his family to remain rooted in God's Word while sharing His love with others. His church family held a special place in his heart, and he treasured the fellowship, worship, and lifelong friendships they shared.

Away from the pulpit, Travis enjoyed the simple blessings of life. He found great joy on the golf course, where he and his close friend Will, along with many other friends, spent countless hours enjoying the game they loved. Whether celebrating a great round of golf or simply enjoying the fellowship, those moments became treasured memories. He was equally happiest at home surrounded by his family. Travis delighted in spending time with his beloved wife, Amy, their children, Nathaniel and Elisabeth, and his precious grandchildren. Family gatherings often included cheering enthusiastically for his favorite teams, the Denver Broncos and the Duke Blue Devils, creating laughter, excitement, and memories that will be cherished forever.

Although his earthly journey has ended, the legacy of faith, love, kindness, and service that Travis leaves behind will continue to inspire all who knew him. His life stands as a testimony of a man who loved God completely, served others faithfully, and treasured his family beyond measure.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving wife, Amy Hunt; his beloved children, Nathaniel Hunt and Elisabeth Hunt; his treasured grandchildren, Lennyn Hunt, Isaac Hunt, Callie Hunt, and one precious blessing expected to join the family soon; his devoted siblings, Allan Hunt and Vicki Blankenship; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, his beloved church family, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Travis has received the reward promised to God's faithful servants. His race has been run, his labor is complete, and he now rests in the eternal peace of his Savior.
