PIERCY, Harold John

Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, Harold John Piercy passed away on June 24, 2026 at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of Catherine Piercy (née Moore). Loving father of Scott and Jennifer Piercy. Harold will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his grandchild Daykota (Jordan) and great-grandchild Xavier, who brought him much joy throughout his life. He is remembered by his nephew James Dodds. He will also be missed by Michelle and Tricia who he was an honorary proud father figure to both.

Harold is predeceased by his son Chris, brother Ross, and parents John and Bessie.

Harold will be remembered for his kindness and love for his family and his deep religious beliefs. He will also be remembered for the many friendships he made over the years.

Harold was born in Cornwall, Ontario and moved to Farran's Point (one of the lost villages) at the age of 8. He was a teenager through the St. Lawrence Seaway construction which was very exciting time for the teenagers. He was 18 when he moved to Deseronto and in 1960 he graduated Guelph College in Horticulture. He farmed until his retirement in 2018 at the age of 75. He sold his farm and he and his family moved to Sandhurst Shores in 2021. He wrote 3 books and published 2 of them.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Wartman Funeral Home, Napanee, on Monday, June 29, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Deseronto Cemetery. followed by a reception at the Wartman Funeral Home. Donations in memory or Harold may be made to Grace United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The family extends their sincere thanks to all those who provided care, support, and friendship to Harold throughout his life. Special thanks to the wonderful and supportive staff at Helen Henderson Care Centre in Amherstview where he spent the last 8 months of his life.
