Carol F. (Madore) Ritchie, 81, of Andover, formerly of South Willington, beloved wife of the late Jim Ritchie, died peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Davis Place in Danielson. Carol was born in Presque Isle, ME, daughter of the late Peter and Verna (St. Peter) Madore.

Carol grew up in Maine and was a graduate of Presque Isle High School. She met and married the love of her life, Jim Ritchie, and together they enjoyed over 53 years of marriage. Carol worked as a sign painter most of her career. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and plants, especially her orchids, and cooking. She was very fond of trying new recipes from Bon Appetit and sharing her newfound meals. Carol was also an avid reader and would stay up all hours of the night to finish a good book. A kind, caring, loving, and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many she will be dearly missed.

She leaves her daughter, Leisa Ritchie and her husband Marshall Fox of Suffield; her sons, Timothy Ritchie and his wife Kendra of Broad Brook, and Michael Ritchie and his wife Kristen of Andover; her siblings, Dale Madore and his wife Billy Joe of Maine, Brian Madore and his wife Debbie of Maine, Debbie Kruh and her husband Greg of Farmington, Sandy Santiago and her husband Joe of Plainville, Linda Folsom of Bangor, ME, and Alan Madore of Maine; her grandchildren whom she adored, Lindsay Zurlo and her husband Paul of NY, Alicia Ritchie and her fiancé, Brian Patsun of Tolland, Darby Ritchie of Broad Brook, and Shane Ritchie of Broad Brook; three great grandchildren, Willie, Santino, and Lucia; and many nieces, nephews and extended family member and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Dalton Madore, and Maynard Madore.

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, July 2,2026, from 4 – 6 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Burial will be private at the request of her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Carol’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
