Christopher Daniel Kight, 29, of Cape Girardeau departed this earthly home for his heavenly home on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 7, 1992, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis to Christy Young of Cape Girardeau.

He is survived by his mother, Christy Young (Wade) Clover; siblings, Kayla (Nathan) McCoy, Shaine Barry, Kayden Barry, and a stepsister, Haylie Clover; grandmothers, Helen Young, Wanda Blankenship, both of Cape Girardeau, and Constance Barry of Houlton, Maine; aunts, Jenny Blankenship and Pamela (Darin) Johnson; uncles, Joseph Young, Gus Felty and Danny Felty; and many other family members, all of the Cape Girardeau area.

Christopher was preceded in death by his father; stepfather, Steven Barry; grandfathers, Joseph Young Sr. and Nick Blankenship; and many other loved ones.

Christopher meant the world to those who truly loved him. He left his family’s home at 17 years old to begin his own journey that he felt God had set out for him. Due to other influences in his life, he lost touch with those who loved and cherished him the most. The news of his earthly departure has left his family heartbroken, as his mother was not notified until a friend discovered it and shared the news on Dec. 11.

The original obituary was a notice posted only on the Crain Funeral Home website, which had minimal information. Cremation rites were accorded, and no service was held.

The family will hold a private memorial to commemorate Christopher’s heavenly homecoming.
