Fjelheim, Barry (1952 – 2026)

It is with profound sadness that the family announces his sudden passing in Sturgeon Falls on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the age of 73.

Barry was the son of the late Gilbert and the late Violet (née Harris). He leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate of 28 years, Cindy (née Grenier). He was the loving father of Nicholas (Carole) and Ashley Johnson (Jaysen), and stepfather of Jean François Labrecque (Rebecca), Justin Labrecque (Christina), and Carine Labrecque (Mathieu). He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Andrew, Max, Ellie, Quinn, Jasper, Caleb, Noah, Theodore, Meagan, and Maude, as well as by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. He will also be sorrowfully missed by his furry best friends, Buddy and Marley.

Barry was the dear brother of Linda Dowsett (Wess) and was predeceased by his younger sister, Melody Vallieres (Dan). He was known for spending a great deal of time in his garage, where he welcomed many friends and family members to join him in enjoying a cold one and sharing stories that will be remembered for years to come. Time spent at his camp, hunting partridge and moose, was among the many outdoor activities he thoroughly enjoyed. His greatest passion, however, was spending time with Cindy, whether they were working on projects together or simply talking about their day.

The family wishes to thank the West Nipissing Ontario Provincial Police, the Paramedics, and Dr. Seguin for treating Barry with compassion, dignity, and respect.

The family will receive friends at the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home in Sturgeon Falls for visitation on Saturday, July 11, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home and Crystal Crematorium, Sturgeon Falls. Donations to the Rorab Shrine Club, 1260 Brookes St. North Bay, ON P1B 2P1 would be greatly appreciated.

Fils de feu Gilbert et de feu Violette (née Harris). Époux pour 28 ans précieux de Cindy (née Grenier). Père bien aimé de Nicholas (Carole), Ashley Johnson (Jaysen) et beau-père de Jean François Labrecque (Rebecca), Justin Labrecque (Christina) et Carine Labrecque (Mathieu). Son souvenir restera gravé dans la mémoire de ses petit-enfants Andrew, Max, Ellie, Quinn, Jasper, Caleb, Noah, Theodore, Meagan, Maude et ses neveux et nièces, famille élargie et tout ses amis. Il serait aussi manqué par ces amies à quatre pattes Buddy et Marley.

Frère de Linda Dowsette (Wess). Prédécédé par sa sœur Melody Vallieres (Dan). Barry passait beaucoup de temps dans son garage, où il accueillait ses nombreux amis et sa famille pour partager un verre et écouter ses histoires, des histoires qui resteront gravées dans les mémoires. La chasse à la perdrix et à l'orignal dans son chalet n'étaient que quelques exemples des nombreuses activités de plein air qu'il affectionnait particulièrement. Sa plus grande passion était de passer du temps avec Cindy, que ce soit pour bricoler ensemble ou simplement pour discuter de leur journée.

La famille aimerait remercier les Police Provinciale d’Ontario (Nipissing Ouest), les paramédicales et Dr. Seguin pour leurs compassion et soins.

La famille recevra parent et amis au Salon Funéraire Théorêt-Bourgeois, Sturgeon Falls pour des visites de 14h00 à 16h00. Les arrangements funéraires sont confiés au Salon Funéraire Théorêt-Bourgeois et Crystal Crematorium, Sturgeon Falls.
