Alice N. (Powers) Frazier, 90, of Gloucester died on Saturday, June 6th.

She was born in Gloucester on December 22nd, 1935, to the late Alfred C. and Caroline E. (Waklin) Powers. She attended Gloucester High School, graduating with the class of 1954. For much of her life, she worked as a seamstress, taking pride in the fine detail of her work.

Alice was loved by all who knew her and had a deep love for her community. She loved to sit in the window of her home, overlooking the harbor and saying hello to those in her neighborhood who brightened her day. She was a talented seamstress and loved sewing & ceramics, creating clothes or beautiful crafted pieces infused with the same care and love she gave to her family & friends. She loved watching the Patriots games and reminiscing through stories and photos about her travels abroad with her husband George and their friends. Alice also had a deep love & compassion for all animals, especially her cat, Smokey. She will be deeply missed.

Alice’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her wonderful caregivers; LuEllen Viel , Pina Marnoto and Chris Smith. They provided comfort, dignity, and companionship, caring for Alice not as hired help, but as if she were their own family. Their love and dedication brought immense peace to Alice and her entire family.

Alice is survived by her sister, Virginia L. (Cail) Korbas of Homosassa, FL; her nephew, Christopher Cail and his wife, Christy (Marques) Cail, her niece Kim (Cail) Mitchell and her husband James, her niece Cindy Collins Buckley and her husband John; brothers-in-law John Frazier and his wife Inez; Robert Frazier and his wife Norma; sisters-in-law Nancy Powers, Mary Kniagher, Sarah Spoon and Nancy Lee. She is also survived by her stepchildren, George E. Frazier, Jr., Sueann Goin, Helen Dennis & Larry Frazier. Alice is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, grandnieces, and grandnephews, along with many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her loving husband, George E. Frazier; her brothers, Alfred Powers, Jr. & Robert Powers; her sister Doreen Collins; sisters-in-law, Jean Levesque & Bertha Todd; and brother-in-law, James Frazier.

Alice’s graveside funeral service will be at Beechbrook Cemetery, Gloucester, on Thursday, July 2nd at noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
