Faye McGarity Obituary
Faye McGarity, 93, of Batesville, AR, formerly of the Hardin Community, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Born Ola Faye Smith on December 18, 1932, in Jones, Louisiana, she was a daughter of Owen and Ollie Walker Smith.
She was reared and received her early education in Louisiana and Arkansas.
Mrs. McGarity was a talented China painter, even owning and operating her own ceramic shop.
She was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lonnie McGarity, whom she married February 2, 1951; infant brother, Elwood Smith; two sisters, Nadine Mason and Floy Lowe; brother, David Smith; and sister-in-law, Ramona Smith.
Survivors include her son, Lonnie McGarity, Jr. (Karen); daughter, Beth Brown (Tim); brothers, Don Smith (Alice), Fred Smith and Lloyd Ray Smith (Linda); two grandchildren, Patrick McGarity (Beth) and Mary-Elizabeth McGarity Parrotte (Joe); and three great-grandchildren, Josie McGarity, JP McGarity and Sam Parrotte.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel with Brother Mike Holcomb officiating. Interment will follow in Hardin Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Robinson and Fuller.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Wood-Lawn Heights in Batesville for their wonderful care of Mrs. McGarity over the years.
