Margaret L. Smith

Margaret L. Smith, 95, of Fox Rd., Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026 at home.

Born on August 9, 1930 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Ochs Graybill.

Margaret was employed as a seamstress for Hesteco in Elizabethtown for 20 years. Before retiring, she had also worked in the deli at Giant in Elizabethtown and also in the deli at Bergers Market in Pine Grove.

She was of the Lutheran Faith and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pine Grove.

Margaret had been a member of the Tremont Senior Citizens, a Daisy assistant leader and a Cubmaster all in Pine Grove. She had also been a Cub Scout Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America, and a Unit Commissioner alongside her husband in Lancaster County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Smith in 2002 and 3 sisters, Kathryn, Emma and Edna.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Roberta Stotz of Columbia, Cynthia and husband Gary Brown of Schuylkill Haven, with whom she resided with until the time of her passing), and Kimberly and husband Neil Miller of Elizabethtown; 5 grandchildren, Neil Jr. and Sarah Miller, Courtney Trombley, Ashley Brown and Emily Fick; 2 great granddaughters, Hadley and Hayzel Fick; nieces and a nephew.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, 18 Wertz Dr., Pine Grove, PA 17963 in her memory.
