Barbara Sue Lockwood, age 68, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on June 10, 2026, at Kings Daughters Medical Center wrapped in the love of her family.

Barbara was born just as the days were heating up into summer, on June 25, 1957. She was the blessing of the late Clara Harding Simpson. Barbara attended Russell High School before settling down to raise a family. She married her Husband Clarence “Gene” Lockwood at an early age and the two were blessed with 52 years of happily ever after. Barbara spent her days making sure her home was full of love, support, and the smell of homecooked meals for her ever-growing family. Barbara found joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved spending an afternoon shopping with family and friends, trying her luck at a game of bingo, and feeling the warm sand beneath her feet while vacationing at the beach. Nothing, however, brought her greater happiness than time spent with her beloved grandchildren, whose laughter filled her heart and whose accomplishments she celebrated with pride. Barbara trusted the Lord through every season of life. Her unwavering belief was a guiding light to those around her, and she was a devoted member of Burnaugh Baptist Church, where she found fellowship, encouragement, and strength.

In addition to her husband Gene, Barb leaves behind her two sons, James Lockwood and his wife Bambi of Catlettsburg, KY, and Ronald Lockwood also of Catlettsburg, KY, six precious grandchildren Caiti Lockwood, Alexis Lockwood, Cayden Lockwood, Cody Lockwood, Jaxxon Lockwood, and Clara Lockwood and one great-grandchild Maverick, her brother Barney Dennison and his wife Alicia of Rush, KY, and two sisters Kathleen Strosnider of Flatwoods, KY, and Georgeann Harding of Catlettsburg, KY. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.

Visitation for friends and family will take place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home, located at 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg, KY, from 6pm to 8pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, beginning at 10am at Rose Hill Burial Park where Pastor Pete Miller will offer words of comfort.
