Carrie Kathleen Parsons, 45, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, after years of battling myotonic muscular dystrophy.

Born November 24, 1980, in Kirksville, Missouri, to Christopher S. and Susan E. (Moots) Parsons, Carrie attended schools in the Kirksville R-III School District. She participated in special olympics bowling, and was a member of the Central Church of Christ, in Kirksville, MO. Carrie enjoyed movies, puzzles, and crafts as her health allowed. Carrie loved sunflowers, Tweety Bird, Coca-Cola, and collecting “Precious Moments” items and ballerina figurines; Carrie had wanted to be a ballerina and her mother imagined her dancing up to heaven to be reunited with loved ones who went before her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Christopher Parsons; a brother, Scotty Parsons; and grandparents Lyndon and Betty (McClaran) Parsons, and Jess and Rosalie (Mason) Moots.

Carrie is survived by her mother, Susan Parsons; sisters Christy Rowe and Amy Wilson; nieces Daneye (Charley) Keller and Rylee Rowe; and nephews Dillon (Lily) Wilson and Brendon Wilson.

Carrie will be cremated, and as per her wishes, her ashes will be placed beside her father in the Gibbs, Missouri, cemetery. Casady-Luscan Funeral Solutions in Greencastle, Missouri, is handling arrangements. No funeral services will be held at this time; a Celebration of Life may be planned later.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help cover cremation and related expenses.
