Rosie Marie Marshall Obituary
Rosie (Nadirah) Marie Marshall, the daughter of Elder Ellis Marshall Jr. and Marjorie Marshall, was born on May 24, 1951, in Lincolnton, GA. She passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at the Sutton Park Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in New Rochelle, NY. Rosie was a remarkable daughter, sister, aunt, and godmother, and her life was filled with love, compassion and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
After moving to New Jersey at an early age, Rosie, affectionally called Rose, began her educational journey in the Plainfield Public School System, and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1969. She developed a strong foundation then continued her pursuit of knowledge and graduated from Union County College in addition to studying at Montclair State University where she expanded her horizons and embraced new experiences.
In 1982, Rosie accepted Islam as her way of life at the Islamic Center of East Orange, NJ, where she was a member.
For an impressive 32 years, Rose dedicated her professional life to Bell Laboratory/Lucent, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and the company as a whole. Her commitment and work ethic were admired by all who had the pleasure of working alongside her. She retired from there in 2001. Because of her love of caring for people, she transitioned to working in a nursing home facility in Scotch Plains, NJ. Over the past 14 years, she resided at the Sutton Park Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in New Rochelle, NY.
Rosie is preceded in death by her father, Elder Ellis Marshall, Jr. and brother Ralph David Marshall.
She leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Marjorie Marshall, two sisters; Pansy Marshall of North Plainfield, NJ and LaQuan Cole (Clinton) of Owings Mills, MD; two brothers; Angelo Marshall (Asiyah) of East Orange, NJ, John Marshall (Jurga) of South Orange, NJ; god daughter, Sybil Darby of Middlesex, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Rosie Marie Marshall was a truly wonderful person who brought joy and happiness to everyone she encountered. Her legacy of love, compassion and dedication will continue to inspire and guide us all. May she rest in eternal peace.
