Joan Marie Nicolette Obituary
Mrs. Joan Marie Nicolette, a lifelong resident of Port Jervis, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 13, 2026, surrounded by her children. She was 95.
Born on March 18, 1931, in Port Jervis, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. Edwards and Jennie Edwards.
Joan took great pride in her work as a Production Manager for Kolmar Laboratories in Port Jervis, where she dedicated many years of service.
A family statement reads:
“Mom was the driving force of our family. She was the planner who made every family event unforgettable. Holidays were her pride and joy, filled with everyone’s favorite foods and traditions that continue to live on through our families today. She created memories that will forever connect us, from family gatherings to Disney trips that still make us laugh and will be talked about for years to come.
While Mom was the planner, she always said none of it would have been possible without the love and partnership of her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Ray. They met while Mom was a cheerleader and Dad was an all-around sports star at Port Jervis High School. Married for nearly 69 years, she missed him deeply after his passing. Together, they built a beautiful life and showed all of us what love, marriage, and family truly mean. For that, we are eternally grateful.
Mom was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Now she is reunited with Dad and can once again embrace him for eternity. She is also reunited with her beloved son Kevin; her grandsons Bryan and Steven, whom she loved dearly; and with Grandma Ada and Aunty Lil, who helped raise her. She is once again surrounded by family and friends.
We will continue to feel her strength, guidance, traditions, and unconditional love as we move forward together. May God bless her, and may she rest in peace.”
She is survived by her son, Nicholas A. Nicolette and his wife, Laura, of Montague, NJ; her daughter, Michele N. Stellato and her husband, Jerry, of Port Jervis, NY; and her daughter-in-law, Reenie Nicolette of Port Jervis.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Amy Theodore and her husband, Frank; Brandy Figueroa and her husband, Hector; Marc Nicolette and his wife, Nicole; Jon Stellato and his wife, Kayla; Chris Stellato and his wife, Catherine; Nicole Stellato; Daniel Nicolette and his wife, Gloria; and Stephanie Nicolette and Justin Felder.
She also leaves behind eighteen great-grandchildren: Ivan, Anna, Nina, Domo, Angie, Anthony, Bella, Kiki, Adrianna, James, Sienna, Meyer, Brooke, Dylan, Lia, Sofia, Nico, and Ray; along with several nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond “Ray” Nicolette; her son, Kevin Nicolette; her grandsons, Bryan Stellato and Steven Stellato; her brother, Earl Edwards; her sisters-in-law, Eleanor Semerano and Vivian Edwards; and her brothers-in-law, Earl Edwards and Frank Semerano.
Burial of cremains will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Jervis at a later date.
In Joan’s memory, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army of Port Jervis, P.O. Box 125, Port Jervis, NY 12771, or to the Red & Black Touchdown Club, c/o Brandy Figueroa, 15 Kingston Ave., Port Jervis, NY 12771.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Gray-Parker Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family through Gray-Parker Funeral Home.
