Laurie A. (Eisenberg) Borcziak Obituary
Laurie (Eisenberg) Borcziak was a sheer force of nature. The greatest giver of nicknames, teller of inappropriate jokes, and source of perfectly timed zingers, she was truly one in a billion. The world welcomed her on February 12, 1955, and from that day forward, we were all better because of her love and zeal for life. She was the life of the party, but she also knew everything going on in the lives of those she loved. She always showed up, right on time, when the moment called.
Laurie was born in Cleveland Heights to Estelle and Marty Eisenberg. The youngest of four children, she immediately learned how to work a room and keep everyone entertained. But if you looked deeper, what you couldn’t miss was one of the biggest hearts ever known. Laurie loved her people with everything she had and would give the shirt off her back to care for the ones she loved.
By the time she was coming of age at Cleveland Heights High School, she was ruling the block at Cedar Lee. Laurie graduated from CHHS in 1973 and never looked back.
Laurie was married to her former husband, Bruce Borcziak, for over 20 years, they continued to have a loving relationship as parents and grandparents. They even were known to travel together to visit their grandchildren and shared many wonderful memories together.
Her children were Laurie’s pride and joy. Being the mother of Brian and Andrea was her life’s purpose. She was always there for her children and cared deeply for them. She was their biggest cheerleader and was always ready to celebrate their victories and comfort them in their setbacks. Her favorite daughter in law, Jacki, and favorite son in law, Ryan, always knew they were loved and appreciated, and knew exactly where they stood, just like everyone else in Laurie’s life.
To her grandchildren, she was an unrivaled giver of joy. It meant the world to her to be a grandmother to Cameron, Blake, and Vera, and a bonus grandmother to Dylan, Emmie Rose and Penelope. She was always quick to show a photo of her cherished grandkids and brag about their accomplishments.
Laurie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Estelle and Marty Eisenberg; Her sisters Fay Swope and Gae Tilton; and many aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
Laurie is survived by her children Brian (Jacki) Borcziak and Andrea (Ryan) Wilkins; Her grandchildren Cameron and Blake Borcziak, Vera Longbrake, and Dylan, Emmie Rose, and Penelope Wilkins; and her brother, Sheldon.
Laurie suffered a catastrophic stroke on July 3, 2022. From that point forward, she was cared for by the wonderful team at Avon Oaks, a Caring Community. To say she left an impression there would be the understatement of the year. She left an indelible mark in the hearts and minds of everyone at Avon Oaks. Laurie’s family is sincerely grateful to the wonderful people there for their care for Laurie over the last four years of her life.
Laurie Borcziak passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026. She was surrounded by the love of her children and family.
Laurie’s family will receive friends on Thursday May 14, 2026 from 4 to 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A service to celebrate her wonderful life will follow immediately at 7pm.
