Rhees, Donald Harold Manchester, MI His Legacy… Donald Harold Rhees, 94, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019. at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 4, 1926 in Jackson, MI to Harold and Gladys (Johnson) Rhees. Don is a 1944 Graduate of Manchester High School; following graduation he served in the United State Navy where he served honorably during WWII. Following the war Don married the love of his life, Ethelyn Bloom, on May 23, 1959 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester, MI. Don was a dedicated employee of Tecumseh Products until his retirement in 1989 after 42 years of service. He was a life member of, Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester; the Chelsea VFW, and The Manchester American Legion. Don loved to watch the Detroit Tigers, and to cheer on Manchester Flying Dutchmen. He will be remembered as a loving, caring man with a big heart that loved to fish and to play Euchre. His Family… Don will be missed by his loving wife Ethelyn; his son Bruce Rhees and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ronald Rhees, Robert Rhees, and his sister, Doris Underwood. His Farewell… Don’s family and friends will gather from 10AM-11AM, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, his farewell to start at 11:00AM after his gathering. Rev. Chris Kurtz will officiate. Interment to immediately follow at Norvell Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Arbor Hospice or to Emmanuel United Church of Christ.
