Kathryn A. Elters passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family in West Grove, PA, on April 22, 2026, she was 78.

Born in Morton, and raised in Secane, Pennsylvania, Kathryn devoted her life to education and to the people she loved most. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, a role she cherished, and later became a reading specialist in the Oxford Area School District. She had a deep love of books and believed strongly in the power of reading to open doors and change lives.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa McMichael Caputo, Meredith McMichael Sumner, and Margaux Elters Kohli; her longtime partner, Ted Elder; her sons-in-law, Greg Caputo, Martin Sumner, and Ashish Kohli; and her beloved grandchildren, Christian, Grace, Cara, Charlotte, Wes, Gia, and Isla. Kathryn found joy in simple moments, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Oxford Presbyterian Church, 6 Pine Street, Oxford, PA. Friends and family may visit from 10 am to 11 am.

Interment will be private.
