Walter "Wally" Surmenkow Obituary
Walter Surmenkow, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, at his home. Wally, loving father of Marissa Surmenkow (Nicholas Routzen), life-long close friend and companion of ex-wife Bess Surmenkow, brother of Toma Romanenko and the late Genie Uli, uncle of Nick (Jamie) Romanenko and the late Nicole Uli, great uncle of Brooks and Rory Romanenko, and friend to many.
He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, as well as being described as a likable and really nice guy. He maintained lasting friendships with his college buddies and formed various connections within his community, which included gathering with fellow sports enthusiasts to watch all the sporting events. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
There will be no formal visitation at this time. Details of a memorial to follow at a later date.
