Jacob Ivan Obituary Jessica Ann Ivan (nee: Hughett), 24 years of age, and a resident of Amherst and her newborn son Jacob have gone to be with their Lord. Jessica passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010, following complications of childbirth. Jacob passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010.

Jessica was born October 29, 1985 in Oberlin, Ohio. She was a lifetime resident of Amherst and graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in the class of 2004.

Jessica was a loving devoted wife and mother, blessed daughter and sister. Along with being a mother Jessica assisted in the family business, P&J Sanitation, with bookkeeping. She was a
member of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in South Amherst where she was active in choir. Jessica loved working outdoors, planting flowers, decorating her home and making a warm and inviting environment for her family and friends.

Jessica leaves to cherish her memory her husband of three and half years, Alan D. Ivan Jr.; her three year old son Shawn Ivan; her parents Paul and Laureen Hughett (nee: Smarsh) of Amherst; her brother Alex Hughett of Amherst; her in laws Alan D. Sr. and Delores Ivan of Wooster as well as a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her new born son Jacob Ryan Ivan on his birthday, May 16, 2010. He was a precious gift to his parents, his brother and his grandparents, aunt and uncles and his extended family.

Friends may call Monday, May 24, 2010, from 6 - 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 25, 2010, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing Prayers will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Christian Burial Mass for both Jessica and Jacob at 10:00 a.m. from Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church; 333 South Lake Street, South Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Denis St. Marie. Pastor Emeritus, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Endowment Education Fund for Shawn Ivan; c/o Edco Credit Unit; 7660 Leavitt Road, Ste E, Amherst, OH 44001.
