Pauline Batman, 93, of Decatur, passed away 3:05 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, Sullivan. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to Dove Inc. in Decatur or to the First Christian Church Library, Decatur. Pauline was born February 29, 1920 in Sullivan; she was the daughter of Art and Elizabeth (Nicholls) Alumbaugh. She married Don W. Batman on October 30, 1943 in Bethany; he preceded her in death on Jan 30, 1980. She was retired from Millikin University in Decatur. Pauline was a member of the First Christian Church, Decatur. Pauline is survived by her sons, Raymond A. (Missy) Batman of Decatur and James L. (Jenny) Batman of Decatur. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three sisters and one brother. The family wishes to thank the staff of Fair Havens Christian Home and Safe Haven Hospice for the wonderful loving care they provided.
