Darrin CARRIER Obituary

Darrin Carrier passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026 surrounded by his family, after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Darrin will be lovingly missed by his beloved wife Anne; his daughter Shelby (Zach Phillips); his sister Pamela Firlotte (Reggie) of Moncton, NB; his brother Daryl (Nancy) of Fredericton, NB; and his half-sister Vikki Carrier of Belledune, NB.

He will be greatly missed by his sisters-in-law Sheila Carrier of Nash Creek, NB, and Tracy Seebach (Andrew) of Plattsville, ON; his brothers-in-law Chris Carrier (Tracy Lawlor) of Limoges, ON, and Shawn Carrier of Plattsville, ON; his father-in-law Telesphore Carrier of Nash Creek, NB; his nephews Tyson Firlotte of Macon, GA and Ashley Firlotte of Belledune, NB; and his niece Emma-Grace Carrier of Fredericton, NB.

Along with his family, Darrin will be deeply missed by his many friends, both near and far. He cherished time spent with family and friends and took great pride in raising his German Shepherds. To Darrin, the perfect gathering was a home filled with close friends, laughter, and good food.

Darrin’s greatest passion was his German Shepherds. It was rare to see him out and about without at least one of them by his side. He especially cherished the arrival of new puppies, delighting in watching them grow before heading to their forever homes. Darrin and Anne carefully and thoughtfully reviewed every potential owner, determined to ensure each puppy would be welcomed into a home as loving as the one in which it was born.

One of Darrin’s greatest gifts was his daughter, who he called by her middle name, Kirsten. She was Daddy’s Little Girl and was the light of his life.

Darrin is predeceased by his mother Ernestine Chamberlain; his father Ralph Carrier; his infant siblings Lorena, Sherman and Melrick; his infant niece Hope; his mother-in-law Nellie; and his brother-in-law Sheldon.

Per his request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, and in honour of his love for dogs, donations may be made to the SPCA.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Oxford Palliative Care Outreach Team, as well as the Woodstock General Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Team, for their compassion, care, and comfort during this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. Dana Pannell, Dr. Sondhi and Dr. Breadner - your kindness, support, and words have helped make an unbearable time more manageable, and will be remembered with deep appreciation.
