Barbara Anne Muzerall Obituary

Barbara Anne Muzerall May 19, 1940 – January 8

Barbara Anne Muzerall passed away peacefully on January 8 at the age of 85, one year after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Throughout her courageous journey, Barbara remained in good spirits, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her compassion, kindness, and thoughtful consideration for those around her never wavered, right to the very end.

Barbara was a devoted and loving mother to Kevin, Real, and Michele-Anne. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Kyle, Kalin, Seth, Sierra, Rebecca, Jackson, and Kyrah, and was also blessed with 11 cherished great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

Earlier in her life, Barbara served briefly in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps before continuing her career in healthcare as a nurse at the Miramichi Hospital, where she worked for 14 years. In 1972, she met her future husband and later moved to Quebec, where she raised her children. After retiring, she relocated to Ontario in 2003 to be closer to her family. Even in retirement, Barbara remained active and dedicated, working for nearly 10 years as a Commissionaire at the Queen’s University Libraries.

At one time, Barbara’s family was spread from one end of the country to the other—and at times even beyond Canada’s borders. In recent years, they all found their way back to Southeast Ontario, a blessing that brought her great comfort and happiness over the last 15 years of her life.

Barbara’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared, the kindness she embodied, and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
