Esperanza Castro Garcia, age 80, of Rome, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at her residence.
Esperanza was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on June 15, 1945, daughter of the late Reyes Castro and the late Asuncion Garcia. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Elena Castro and 20 siblings. Esperanza was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, David Castro; daughters, Guadelupe Castro, Martha Castro, Rosalba Castro, Esperanza Castro; sons, Raul Castro, Beto Castro, Jaime Castro, David Castro; sister, Adela Castro; 26 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, with a Rosary Service at 6:00pm.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 10:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Paul Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Esperanza nació en Zacatecas, México, el 15 de junio de 1945, hija del fallecido Reyes Castro y de la fallecida Asunción García. También la precedieron en la muerte su hija, Elena Castro, y 20 hermanos. Esperanza era ama de casa y miembro de la Iglesia Católica de Santa María.
Le sobreviven su marido, David Castro; hijas, Guadalupe Castro, Martha Castro, Rosalba Castro, Esperanza Castro; hijos, Raúl Castro, Beto Castro, Jaime Castro, David Castro; hermana, Adela Castro; 26 nietos, 8 bisnietos y varios sobrinos y sobrinas.
La familia recibirá a sus amigos en la funeraria Henderson & Sons, North Chapel, el lunes 12 de enero de 2026, de 16:00 a 19:00, con un servicio del rosario a las 18:00.
La misa funeral se celebrará el martes 13 de enero de 2026 a las 10:30 en la iglesia católica de St. Mary's, con el padre Paul Porter oficiando. El entierro tendrá lugar después en los Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
