Janice “Yvonne” McClanahan Evans, 68 years of age, of Jolo, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at McDowell Healthcare Center. Born February 21, 1957, in Welch, WV, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Mary Addaline Puckett McClanahan.

Yvonne was of the Pentecostal faith enjoyed doing her Bible study and visiting with the missionaries who visited the area when she could, making them her famous fudge and sharing the word of the Lord. In her spare time, she liked doing word puzzles, being on her iPad and keeping up with her friends and her family on Facebook. Yvonne was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt that enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be truly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Edward “Boggie” Evans, grandson Steven Tyler Blankenship; brothers Junior and William McClanahan, and son in law Steven Blankenship.

Survivors include her daughters Michelle Blankenship and companion Scott Hale of Jolo, WV, Laura Crabtree of War, WV; sisters Sandra Olde of Princeton, WV, Rose Lester and husband Jim of Bradshaw, WV; sister-in-law’s, Linda (Tom) Alaxander, Kathy Golden; brother-in-law’s, Larry (Dawn) Golden, Freddie (Brenda) Golden all of Bartley, WV.

She is also survived by grandchildren Caitlin Marie Sparks and husband Shane, Makayla Blankenship and companion Josh Jewell, Timothy Hunter Crabtree, Amber Nicole Crabtree, James Crabtree, granddaughter of the heart Shayna Day, great grandbaby of the heart Oakley, and one great grandbaby on the way.

Funeral services for Janice Yvonne Evans will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the Family Worship Center, Jolo, WV with Reverend Charlie Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunford Family Cemetery Bartley WV.

Pallbearers will be Jim Lester, Shane Sparks, Scott Hale, Nick Lester, Anthony Boyd, Fred Golden, Kevin Golden, Nick Bailey, Dwayne Allen, Lloyd Addair, Zac McClanhan, Matt McClanahan, and Jamie McClanahan.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday January 12, 2026 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until the service hour of 7:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Med-Surg and ER departments at Welch Community Hospital for the care they extended Yvonne in her time of need.
