Marjorie "Margie" Ann Rabach Obituary

Marjorie "Margie" Ann Rabach, age 97, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Cardinal Ridge Residential Care in Sturgeon Bay.

Margie was born on August 8, 1928 in Ashland, the daughter of the late Milo and Pearl "Dolly" (Doucette) Taylor. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1946. After high school, Margie worked at her parents' tavern, "Milo's White Horse Inn", where she helped alongside her mother and siblings. It was there that she met Wallace "Wally" Junior Oram, who sailed the Great Lakes with her father. When ships docked in Ashland, Wally and Milo would gather at Milo's White Horse Inn (where Margie was working), and a lifelong love story began.

Margie and Wally were married on June 19, 1950 in Superior and made their home near Wally's family in Sturgeon Bay. While Wally continued sailing the Great Lakes, Margie devoted herself to raising their four children. Wally preceded her in death on May 15, 1975.

In the summer of 1976, Margie married Carl Roger Rabach in Sturgeon Bay.

In addition to working at the family Tavern, she worked at Jolin's Drug Store, then at Emerson Motors, both in Sturgeon Bay.

Margie and Carl shared seven years of marriage before Carl's passing on January 29, 1984.

She also worked in the kitchen at Captain's Inn in Sturgeon Bay and then at the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club, cleaning.

Margie was an avid bowler, oftentimes with her good friend, Joan Worley at Worley's, and other friends. She liked spending time with friends at Big Hill Regency House in Sturgeon Bay, reading, and attending family gatherings. Above all else, Margie treasured time spent with her family, especially visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.

She will be remembered for her sharp mind, quick wit, and remarkable strength. Fiercely independent, Margie supported herself after the loss of both husbands and maintained an active, independent lifestyle well into her late 90s.

Her love will live on in the hearts of her children and their families: Jan (Carol) Oram of Sturgeon Bay [and their children Kelly (Rob) Oram-Rankin, Kyle Oram, and Katie (Kevin) Oram-Lamont], Kathy (Jim Klapatch) Schurman of Richland, MO [and her son, Sean Schurman, Michael "Mickey" (Denise) Oram of Adams, TN [and their children, Jessica (TJ) Oram-Bardazon, Angela (Kevin Cooper) Oram, Cody Oram, and Casey (Daisy) Oram], Kevin (Karrie) Oram of Fish Creek [and their children, Karina Oram and Kami (Jeremy) Oram- Zeman; precious great-grandchildren, Ian, Will, Cassie, Jaxon, Bailey, Zoey, Emma, Everleigh, Bailey, and Darian; and great-great-grandson, Hudson; and other relatives.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wallace "Wally" Oram and Carl Rabach; her grandson, Jeremy Schurman; and her siblings, Jack (Dell) Taylor, Robert (Isabelle) Taylor, and Isabelle "Izzy" (Ed) Mattyas; and other relatives.

Margie will be laid to rest in Bayside Cemetery in the Town of Sevastopol, beside her husband, Wally, with a private committal for family.

"Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to Unity Hospice and the compassionate, caring staff at Cardinal Ridge for your exceptional care."
