Charles Philip “Phil” Zook, 86, of Knoxville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Phil grew up in Marion, IN. After graduating from high school, he served 12 years in the United States Air Force, stationed stateside and abroad. While stationed in Savannah, GA, he met and married Hazel. When his military service was complete, together Phil and Hazel, with 3 kids in tow, attended Atlanta Christian College, now Point University. With his ministerial degree and love for people, Phil served churches in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Phil served on staff at Point University and Johnson University. His life was one of service, both international and at home. Phil loved to travel and visit museums. He has left a mark and a legacy of faith, service, and love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lucile Zook; and sister, Jean.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Hazel Zook; children, Joyce Wolfe (Greg), Philip Zook (Missy), and Paul Zook (Chris Bowers); grandchildren, Taryn Pachciarz (Logan), Adam Wolfe (Alyssa), Zachary Zook (Kathleen), Hannah Zook, Ashlyn Rodriguez (Jacob), Natalie Bösche (Simon), Kiya Zook, Asia Zook, Janiyah Zook, and Kendarius Zook; 10 great-grandchildren and one due in February; sister, Joan Shields; many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3 PM Saturday, January 24th with the Memorial Service to follow at 3 PM Saturday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN 37865. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com.
