Michael Thomas Kenny. Born July 10, 1947 to Virginia L (Leach) and John P Kenny, Sr. of Chicago. Devoted brother of Neil F (Myrna) Kenny, Mary L Kenny (Edward McGrath), William E (Kim) Kenny, Virginia E (the late John) Borik, the late John P Kenny Jr., and the late Anita M Rice. Loving uncle of John S Kenny of Ashtabula, OH, Christopher, Lisa, Liza, Leona Creamer, Marykate, Sean, Theresa and Natalie Kenny, and also Patrick (PJ), and Kristy Kenny of Wichita KS., Jamie and Kim Rice, William E Kenny, Jr., Laura Kenny, Kristen Paniagua, Angela Pagliaro, Jason Borik, and Jessica Clark.

Mike grew up in the Canaryville neighborhood where he attended St. Gabriel school. Having mastered his Latin responses, he also served as an altar boy at St Gabriel Church. As a boy, Mike joined the Valentine Boys Club Steer Project where the steer he raised, "Mr. Sirloin" won the champion ribbon at the 1958 Livestock Show at the Chicago International Stock Yards. He graduated from St. Rita high school and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving for four years in Viet Nam, Japan, and Australia. He proudly marched in the 1986 Vietnam Veterans Parade, which finally acknowledged those service members. Mike was a member of Teamsters Union Local 710, having managed for UPS and driven for Consolidated Freight Co. He was ever proud of his Irish heritage from his early step dancing days (in Margie Bartishell's basement) to his later love for traditional music and the old rebel songs. We will long remember Mike's steadfast dedication to our parents and all his family. He was a kind and generous man. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.  

Visitation, Wednesday, January 14, 2026  9 to 9:45 am at St. Gabriel Church,600 West 45th Street, Chgo  Funeral Mass 10 a.m.   Burial - Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Road., Elwood, Illinois  meet at Cemetery at 1:45 pm.
