In almost every family, there is a certain lady who proudly wears the title of matriarch. They all share one thing in common—they are the leaders of the family, teaching through their words and actions the wisdom and knowledge gained throughout a long and meaningful life’s journey. For one family in particular, Betty Jane Stutzky was that matriarch, and she wore the title with elegance and grace. She lived her life as an example for all to follow.
Betty was born on March 25, 1934, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, daughter of the late Robert and Lillian (Blumenthal) Vivian. She was a proud graduate of Roseville High School, Class of 1952. Betty was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Harold T. “Harry” Stutzky, on September 12, 1953, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Roseville. The couple made their home in Warren, and their union was blessed with four wonderful children, whom she loved and cherished deeply.
A true entrepreneur, Betty owned and operated several businesses throughout her life, including her own personal ministry at His Hand Christian Bookstore in Warren. She was also the very best Avon saleswoman around, serving the Tri-County area with dedication and care for over 40 years. Betty was exceptionally creative—quilting, crocheting, arranging flowers, and especially enjoying her most popular passion, rubber-stamped card making. She greatly looked forward to her monthly craft club and the fellowship it provided.
Betty was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she was actively involved and always willing to help wherever she was needed. Above all else, she loved her family and absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As Betty neared the end of her earthly journey, her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ only grew stronger. She prayed daily, always lifting her family and friends in prayer. It was her steadfast faith that carried her through life’s ups and downs, and she remained ever grateful to the Lord for the many blessings bestowed upon her.
After a year of physical struggles, Betty, surrounded by her loving family, went home to be with her Lord and her beloved husband on January 8, 2026. Though her passing brings sorrow, her family finds comfort in knowing she has entered a life free from pain and care. They remain eternally thankful for their cherished matriarch, who taught them to be loving, independent, and genuine through the beautiful life she lived. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is also survived by many loving friends.
