Joan M. Willis (née Paul), age 87, of Plainfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Born on August 19, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (née McGill) Paul.

Joan is survived by her loving children, Margaret Handel, Mary (Robert Perez) Willis, and Ray (Jim Cowhey) Willis; her cherished grandchildren, Serena (Basit Qureshi) Handel, Danny Handel, Christian Perez, Alexandra (Kush Patel) Perez, Alyssa (Kellie Dawn) Perez, Arthur (Sarah Ballard) Perez and Santos Perez, and brother-in-law; Larry Lynn. She is also lovingly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Hartley; sister Diane Lynn, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Al and Eileen Merigold (née Willis); and her former husband; Raymond Willis.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory, 24021 Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville, Illinois. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2003 Hassert Blvd., Naperville, Illinois. Interment private.
