Mr. David Earl Casey, age 76, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Thursday (January 8, 2026) in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital. Born February 21, 1949 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Luther and Versie Blankenship Casey. A lifelong resident of the area, he had formerly been employed as a coal miner, having worked at several area mines and a member of the UMWA for over twenty years. He was a member of Outreach Temple. He enjoyed fishing, trail riding, and working on cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Phyllis Harris Casey; brothers, Luther Fayne Casey, Jim Casey, and Leon Casey; sister, Truman Burke; and great-grandchild, Madison Harris.

Survivors include one son, David Casey and wife, Angela; step-son, Larry Gene Harris; grandchildren, Christina Meadows and husband, Doug, Angela Harris, Travis Harris, Brandon Casey, and Amber Deel and husband, Harley; great-grandchildren, Brieanna Harris, Jaycob Deel, Brooke Deel, and Jackson Deel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Reynolds and Rev. Wayne Charles officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be David Honaker, Travis Harris, Harley Deel, Brandon Casey, and Carson Presley.

The family will receive friends after 6 PM Monday at the funeral home.
