In Loving Memory
Margaret Mary Allore (Hopkins)
August 14, 1947 – January 8, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret Mary Allore, beloved wife of Robert Allore, dear mother of Jennifer (Michael Blatchford), Julia, and David (Denise Hunt), and adoring grandmother of Olivia, Liam, Casey, and Lewis. She was surrounded with love, her family by her side, as she tenaciously and gracefully succumbed to her long battle with dementia on January 8th at the age of 78.
Born on August 14th, 1947, in Erinsville, Ontario, to William and Mary Hopkins, sister to Ann Hopkins, the late Mildred MacNamara (Seaumus), Bill Hopkins (Lois) and Noreen Barnett (Roy). Marg left her mark on many as she was known as a beloved English high school teacher in Napanee (NDSS) and Odessa (Ernestown SS); she was an avid traveler with her husband, Bob, she enjoyed volunteering for the church, fundraising for worthy causes like Helping Cope Through Hope, reading, gardening, boat rides on White Lake, long walks with Boots and Harley, and most of all, she adored spending as much time as possible having fun and being delighted by her beautiful grandchildren who affectionately knew her as Grana.
As per Marg’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the Hannah Funeral Home, in Tamworth on Monday, January 12th, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Marg’s Catholic funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Erinsville. The interment at Assumption Cemetery Columbarium will be followed by a reception at Hannah Funeral Home in Tamworth. The family kindly requests any memorial donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, the Assumption Church Building Fund, or the John M. Parrot Centre in honor of her caring spirit.
