Thomas Eugene Baldwin Obituary

Thomas Eugene Baldwin March 14, 1959 – January 8, 2026

Thomas Eugene Baldwin, 66, of Kendall, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026.

Born on March 14, 1959, Tom grew up full of energy and mischief, wreaking delightful havoc alongside his siblings in his early years. As a teenager, he ventured to Montana, where he earned his GED and picked up practical life skills that would fuel his lifelong passion for tinkering. Whether constructing and flying model airplanes, remodeling homes, or rebuilding tractors, Tom's hands were rarely still.

Returning to his roots, Tom met the love of his life, Peggy, and together they built a beautiful family. His once-rebellious spirit softened into steady devotion as he provided for his loved ones without pause, tirelessly and selflessly for the rest of his days. From heavy machine work and transportation as an owner-operator, to diligent line management and eventual supervision, Thomas was a man dedicated to the production, service and assistance he could provide. He took pride and dignity in his work both on and off the clock.

Tom found joy in life's simple pleasures: the soul-stirring power of music and the quiet thrill of fishing. Few things brought him more peace than casting a line into the water.

Tom's greatest wish was the health and happiness of his children and grandchildren. He never sought praise for the boundless kindness he gave so freely. This was apparent in his lifelong friendships he held - with siblings, coworkers, neighbors, and perhaps his closest friend, whom he exclusively and affectionately referred to as "Dink." Tom could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel like an old friend. His laugh, like his father's before him, filled the whole room.

Most importantly, Tom loved Jesus with all his heart. His family finds deep comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the loving arms of his Savior.

He is preceded in death by Mildred (Rose) Sass, Isaac Baldwin, Verlyn Baldwin, Sharyl Pearsall, Peggy Baldwin, and loved ones from his Clark family.

He is survived by his children: Sara (Aaron) Wurster, Keli, Adam, and Jacob; his grandchildren: Madison, Kyler, Ana, Lily, Timothy, and Sammy; his siblings: Donnie (Bonnie) Baldwin, Danny Pearsall, Carol (Mark Tucker) Vanderhoof, Robert Baldwin, Barb (Darrel) McCracken, John (Lorie) Baldwin, Mary (Jeremy) Edge, and Sharon Baldwin; and many other nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and Clark family.

A private family graveside burial will take place in the Elroy City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests acts of kindness in his honor—fix something broken, cast a line, or simply reach out to someone who needs a friend.

Rest easy, Tom. Your love, your laughter, and your steadfast faith will live on in all who knew you.
