Jimmie "Nell" Burnett, affectionately know as Nell, born in Brilliant, Alabama on August 27,1934 to the late James and Effie Burleson passed away on January 8,2026 in Noblesville, Indiana.  Nell was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother and spent the majority of her life living in Indianapolis, IN.

Nell was also a devoted member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Sahara Grotto, a Masonic social and charitable organization. Much time was spent with other members of Eastern Star and the "Greeters" planning, participating in the events that were held.

In her younger years she enjoyed bowling in leagues, gardening, reading, shopping and visiting the casinos "Her love of her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was beyond measure". She will be remembered for her warmth, her friendships, and the joy she found in spending time with loved ones.

Nell is survived by her children, Keith Burnett, Denise (Dan) Bourget; grandchildren Kevin (Elizabeth) Burnett, Todd (Jessica Vogan) Burnett, Josh (Aarika) White, Amanda (David) Petker, Kyle (Tasha) Burnett, Brittany (Travis) Madix, Courtney (Robert Norton) Burnett, and Jordan Burnett; along with 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Burnett, her parents, sister and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service time at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 15, 2026 at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
