It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis W. Thierrien, 78, of St.Augustine, FL. Dennis was born on November 12, 1947, in Worcester, MA, son of the late Arthur and Irene Thierrien, and he passed away on January 8, 2026, in Orange Park, FL from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Dennis was a kind and generous soul with a heart of gold, and a great sense of humor. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and especially cooking great food for his family and friends both at home and at the St. Augustine Boating Club. Dennis also became an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan after meeting coach Bear Bryant in a diner in the mid 70’s and loved proclaiming “Roll Tide”! After graduating from high school, Dennis entered the Army and proudly and honorably served his country in Vietnam, earning several commendations including three bronze stars. He continued his service in the US Army Reserves until 1979. Dennis later went to work at NADEP at NAS Jax until his retirement in 2000.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his son John Frank of Orlando, Fl. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Marsha Dawn (Maggie) Thierrien; stepchildren Amber Atteberry (Chris), Marshall Parsons, and Lily Parsons, all of St. Augustine; mother of his children Betty Verle Briggs of St. Augustine; grandchildren Elizabeth Conway of Indianapolis IN and Matthew Frank of Highland, NY; brothers Gerald (Dottie) of St. Augustine and Wayne (Kim) of Lugoff, SC; niece Leslie Banta (Keith) and nephew Chris Thierrien of St. Augustine; step niece Amy Strickland (Mike) of Jacksonville, FL; nieces Kathleen Thierrien and Victoria Shirley (Daniel) and nephew David Thierrien of the Carolinas, and several great nephews and nieces.

A service celebrating Dennis will be held Friday, January 16 at 10:00 at Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Hwy in St. Augustine with the Reverend Dan Ott officiating. Casual dress is acceptable. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family at the St. Augustine Boating Club, 611 Boating Club Rd. for a meal and the chance to swap stories about our beloved Dennis.
