It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marie Annette Hollister, who passed away quietly at home on January 8, 2026. Born to Alfred and Yvonne LaGassee on August 28, 1944, Marie lived a fulfilling life filled with love, joy, travel and determination. She is predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Noella, Louis and David LaGassee.

Marie's spirit lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Allan Hollister, whom she married on May 13, 1961. Their enduring partnership through celebrations and life challenges is an inspiration to all.

Marie leaves behind her son, Steve Hollister, her daughter, Kimberlee Compostella, and her respective in-laws, Dawn Hollister, and Lou Compostella. She also leaves to cherish her memory her beloved grandchildren, Skyler and Reagan Hollister, and Ryley Compostella. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Kathy Hollister Padgett and Gisele Hollister Sconyers.

While her family was the center of her universe, she turned countless neighbors, co-workers and acquaintances into cherished friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A viewing for Marie will be held on January 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory Inverness Chapel, 501 W. Main St, Inverness, FL . Friends and family are encouraged to pay their respects at the viewing, to both remember and celebrate the wonderful life she led.

Marie was a beacon of laughter and love in many lives. Her generous spirit and bright personality will be deeply missed. We encourage those who knew Marie to remember her fondly, as we share in this loss together.
