Diane Peterson, 69, of Canfield, passed away Thursday morning, January 8, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Diane was born April 4, 1956, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (DiBenedetto) Constantinovich, and was a lifelong area resident. She grew up in Boardman and was a 1974 graduate of Boardman High School.

Diane was employed as a cashier at Sparkle Market for 35 years, retiring as head cashier in 2010. She took pride in her work and enjoyed the friendships she built there over the years.

Diane loved working outside in her yard and decorating her home. She especially enjoyed family vacations, as her family was the most important part of her life.

She leaves her loving husband, Gary Peterson, whom she married on May 26, 1990; her sons, Nicholas Peterson of Boardman and David (Sydney) Peterson of Canfield; her grandchildren, a granddaughter, Elliot, and a grandson, Connor; her brother, Thomas (Cindy) Constantinovich of Boardman; her sister, Karen (Doug) Thorpe of North Lima; her sister-in-law, Rita Constantinovich of Summerville, South Carolina; and her mother-in-law, Rosalee Peterson of Austintown.

Besides her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her brother, David Constantinovich, and her father-in-law, David Peterson.

In accordance with Diane’s wishes, there will be no services or calling hours.

In honor of Diane’s memory, eat a piece of chocolate — and not that cheap stuff.
